About the Role
Providing our members with a lively community is at the heart of our Community Engagement team. Through our events, millions of InterNations members in 420 cities worldwide can meet, network, share their passion and live unique experiences. We’re looking for a new team member to join our Community Engagement team for approximately a one-year maternity leave cover period. As a Junior Community Engagement Specialist, you will support and empower Ambassadors in a large region of the world with the organization of local events, contributing directly to the vibrant community life and success of InterNations.
As a Junior Community Engagement Specialist at InterNations, you will:
- take ownership of a portfolio consisting of close to 60 local communities, and oversee its further strategic development
- recruit, onboard, and empower volunteer community members who organize regular events
- monitor, diversify and ensure the high-quality and success of our events
- be responsible for conflict and crisis management
- identify opportunities for operational efficiency and support cross-functional projects to optimize the user experience of our members
You meet the following requirements:
- university degree in Business Administration, Media Studies, Cultural Science (or similar)
- fluency in written and spoken English is essential (additional languages are a plus)
- career starter or 1+ years’ experience in domains such as Community Engagement, Community Management, Event Management, Account Management, Sales, Customer Support (or equivalent)
- affinity for social networking applications and platforms
- strong communication skills, assertive, reliable and calm under pressure
- open, collaborative and team player, with an affinity to work in a largely international environment
